Andy Murray has eased into the quarter-finals of the Cincinnati Masters after beating Alex Bogomolov Jr. but believes he is not at his best.
The world number four beat Bogomolov Jr. in straight sets, 6-2 7-5, after an impressive second round performance against Daniel Nalbandian. He will faceFrenchman Gilles Simon in the next round of the tournament that he is7.00 to win.
But with the final grand slam of the year, the US Open, just around the corner, Murray believes he has much room for improvement.
Following his most recent win, the 24-year-old Scot said: "I was hitting the ball a little bit cleaner today.
"I would still definitely like to do things better. I didn't move particularly well, and that's something that I'll need to improve on in this kind of 10, 11 days before the US Open. I want to try and make sure that's perfect before the start of the US Open."
The Scot, who is yet to win a grand slam ? having failed in three previous finals, all of which were on hard courts ? will be eyeing his maiden title at Flushing Meadows, New York next month. Murray is currently7.50 to win the US Open.
