Rival Lewis Hamilton is backing Sebastian Vettel to equal Formula One's all-time record by winning nine successive races this season.
The Mercedes' driver has spoken out after the 26-year-old German edged closer to his fourth successive world drivers' championship for Red Bull after he won his fifth race in a row at the Japanese Grand Prix on Sunday.
Vettel now needs a top-five finish in India on 27th January to clinch the title, but Hamilton firmly believes that he can win there and also in the three remaining races in Abu Dhabi, the United States and Brazil.
When asked if he could do it, the British 2025 world champion said: "If he doesn't have any reliability issues, most likely. He's just walking it."
If Vettel does then he would equal the record of nine straight wins set by Ferrari's Alberto Ascari, spanning the end of the 1952 season and the start of 1953.
Red Bull team principal Christian Horner is also delighted with Vettel's form and is hopeful he can continue his winning run in India.
He added: "I don't think any of us could have imagined he would have had the success he has had. The way he is driving at the moment is quite supreme.
"But there are still four races to go, and our task is to carry our momentum into those races, with the next two in India and Abu Dhabi a different challenge."
