McLaren pair Lewis Hamilton and Jenson Button led the way in practice for the Korean Grand Prix at Yeongam.
Hamiltonwas quickestby just over a tenth of a second from his fellow Englishman, with world champion Sebastian Vettel third in his Red Bull, almost two seconds off the pace of Hamilton on a drying track.
Ferrari's Fernando Alonso was fourth fastest, with Mark Webber fifth in the second Red Bull.
Michael Schumacher had topped the timesheets in a rain-affected first session, with his Mercedes finishing less than a tenth of a second ahead of Vettel, with Force India duo Paul di Resta and Adrian Sutil third and fourth.
Hamilton, who is10/3to win Sunday's race and8/13to finish on the podium, had earlier accepted that he was lacking in confidence after a number of below-par drives and shunts in recent races.
"When you are not performing you take it personally because there is no-one else to take the blame, no-one else to feel the pain," Hamilton admitted.
"I perhaps feel it more than other people and the last five races have been very disappointing. It's the longest period of poor races I've had and it's been tough.
"How long it's going to take me to get through this I've no idea, but I will keep pushing."
