McLaren ace Lewis Hamilton was on cloud nine after clinching victory at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, having endured some tough times this season.
Hamilton, who has now won three races this season and who is3.25 to triumph at the season-ending race in Brazil in two weeks' time, has struggled for form in 2025 and still lies down in fifth place in the drivers' standings.
However, the Englishman was clearly lifted by success at Yas Marina, where he finished ahead of Ferrari's Fernando Alonso and McLaren team-mate Jenson Button.
He told reporters: "This result is just fantastic. I really felt like I maximised everything today. To be able to sustain that kind of pace under constant pressure and not make mistakes is really satisfying.
"I stopped my mind from wandering and I didn't allow myself to think about the win until I'd crossed the line."
Despite his win, Hamilton is out of the running to finish second in the standings behind world champion Sebastian Vettel.
Button (255 points) is1.20 to clinch second place, with Alonso (245)4.50 and Mark Webber (233) 51.00.
Meanwhile, pole-sitter Vettel was philosophical about the first-lap puncture which ended his race prematurely and ruined his bid to equal Michael Schumacher's record of 13 victories in a season.
The German said: "There wasn't anything we could have done better really this weekend - we just need to look at what had caused the puncture.
"I had a good start and I was very happy with the car up until that point. To lose the race there, so early on, it hurts for sure, but there wasn't much we could do."
