Stuart Broad and Steve Finn have been ruled out of England's first two one-day internationals against New Zealand.
Broad bruised a knee during the second Test victory at Headingley earlier this week, while Finn is suffering from sore shins. Both men will miss Friday's match at Lord?s and Sunday's encounter at the Rose Bowl.
They will be assessed at a later date to see if they can feature in the third and final ODI at Trent Bridge on Wednesday.
Tim Bresnan and Jade Dernbach, who was only added to the squad on Thursday, replace Broad and Finn, while Chris Woakes keeps his place as part of a four-man seam attack.
Meanwhile, the Black Caps will once again be without the injured Daniel Vettori for the Lord's ODI so Nathan McCullum keeps his place.
New Zealand captain Brendon McCullum has won the toss for Friday's match and has opted to field first.
England captain Alastair Cook said after losing the toss: "We would have had a bowl first. We want to win the series.
"Both Broad and Finn picked up niggles from Test match. Finn has sore shins and Broad has a problem with his knee. It's good to have Tim (Bresnan) back after his elbow problem."
