Nico Rosberg is hoping for a dry weekend at the United States Grand Prix as he looks to move another step closer to a first Formula One title.
The 31-year-old German currently leads the drivers' championship by 33 points ahead of Silver Arrows team-mate and reigning champion Lewis Hamilton, but there are still 100 points to aim for so he is not taking anything for granted.
The first of the remaining races is at Austin, Texas, this coming weekend which brings back bad memories for Rosberg as he slid off the track in wet conditions 12 months ago to pave the way clear for Hamilton to go on and claim a victory on his way to the title.
Therefore, he is keeping his fingers crossed for the rain to steer clear and to take another big stride to ending his long wait to break his duck for the F1 crown.
Rosberg said on Planet F1: "We've got four more races left of this season for everyone to hopefully enjoy some great action on track- starting of course in Austin this weekend.
"It's a great circuit, with some really challenging sections and a few good opportunities for overtaking.
"Last year this race obviously didn?t work out so great for me, so I'm looking forward to getting back out there and doing my best to get it right this time.
"Hopefully we won't have the same weather as last year ? that was pretty crazy!
"Mostly I hope it stays dry for the fans: they were amazing waiting out in the rain last time, so they're owed a nice dry weekend I think! They give us such great hospitality that they deserve an exciting show, so we'll do our best to provide that."
