Chelsea interim manager Rafael Benitez has revealed he has concerns over the long-term fitness of captain John Terry.
The Blues talisman travelled with the squad to Sparta Prague on Thursday, but didn't feature in the 1-0 Europa League victory due to inflammation in his right knee.
The latest blow is a consequence of a knee injury the former England captain sustained is the 1-1 draw with Liverpool in January.
The problem kept Terry sidelined for two months but the defender has only managed three appearances since making his return in mid-January and Benitez admits Terry?s fitness is a cause for concern.
"He had a setback," Benitez said following Chelsea?s 1-0 win in Prague. "After he was fine again. He had no reaction in the next training session. But we have to manage the situation. He has to train more with the team and then he will have more options to play. It's a vicious circle: If he cannot play, he cannot improve his match fitness but, if he can't train with the team, he can't improve his fitness.
"We have to manage the situation but in the meantime, if [Gary] Cahill and [Branislav] Ivanovic are doing well, we can keep winning games."
Chelsea star Oscar grabbed the only goal of the game on Thursday night as Benitez named a strong side for the Europa League tie.
