Novak Djokovic hopes that he will be able to use his victory at the ATP World Tour Finals as a platform for more success in the future.
The 26-year-old Serb sealed a comprehensive 6-3 6-4 victory against world number one Rafael Nadal in the London final on Monday evening as he extended his impressive end-of-season winning run to 22 matches.
That sequence began after Djokovic had been beaten by Nadal at the US Open, since when he has won titles in Beijing, Shanghai and Paris.
Djokovic will now turn his attention to the Davis Cup final later this month, when Serbia face the Czech Republic in Belgrade. Serbia can be backed at1.36to win the Davis Cup outright, while the Czech Republic are available at3.00 to triumph.
After a short break, Djokovic will then attempt to retain his Australian Open crown and can be backed at2.50to do so.
He said after claiming the ATP World Tour Finals title for the third time: "After the US Open final, I needed to take things slowly and see and analyse what I did wrong, especially in the matches against Rafael, to understand what I need to do in order to win against him.
"There is a big team of people around me that are very professional and they've done their best in order for me to improve my game.
"I think the results are showing, that we had a great improvement in the last two-and-a-half months.
"This can serve as a great platform. I'm extra motivated and inspired to work and get myself, first of all, rested and recovered in the off-season, and then work on my game and get ready for the Australian Open."
