Manchester United will be without striker Wayne Rooney for Saturday's trip to QPR, boss Sir Alex Ferguson has confirmed.
The England international missed Monday's FA Cup win over Reading with a sinus problem.
The United forward has returned to training, but Ferguson believes Saturday's game has come too soon for Rooney.
"He came in for the first time yesterday and the medical people are dealing with him,'' said the United boss. "He has been on medicine and hopefully he will start training today, but I wouldn't think he would be available on Saturday.''
United will also be without Phil Jones for the trip to Loftus Road after the versatile defender suffered an ankle injury against the Royals.
Jones is considered a doubt for the second-leg of United's last 16 Champions League tie with Real Madrid at Old Trafford on March 5, although Rooney should have recovered in time to face the Spanish giants.
A victory for Ferguson's men on Saturday would see them move 15 points clear at the top of the Premier League table as nearest rivals Manchester City play host to Chelsea on Sunday.
