Stuart Broad was pleased with the way he came through a tough second day for England in their warm-up match against a New Zealand XI in Queensland.
England were eventually dismissed for 426 in their first innings and then took two late wickets as the home team reached 224-6 by the close.
Ian Bell made 158 for the tourists while Broad continued his recovery from the heel injury he sustained in January by taking 1-35 from his 15 overs.
The match is England's only warm-up encounter before the first Test against New Zealand which is scheduled to start on 6th March in Dunedin. England are1.53to win the match while the Black Caps can be backed at6.50to take a 1-0 lead in the series and the draw is available at3.75.
Broad, who has not featured in the long form of the game since the second Test against India in Mumbai, said afterwards: "I'll sleep well tonight. It always takes a bit of getting used to.
"But I got through the spells pretty well; it's an encouraging sign. The build-up throughout this tour has been really good for me, starting with Twenty20 cricket, going into the one-day format and now we have pretty much four back-to-back games.
"So the workload is going to be tough. But you just need to manage that well, and I feel like I'm doing that at the moment."
