British heavyweight David Price is set to fight Tony Thompson again at Liverpool's Echo Arena in January.
The 29-year-old was stopped in the second round by the American at the same venue last month but has been granted a rematch by the 41-year-old on 6th January.
The defeat was the first of Price's career against a man who has lost his two world title bouts with Wladimir Klitschko.
Price's promoter, Frank Maloney, said: "Because it was such a big win for Thompson there was a lot of interest in him from rival promoters, but we got there and he has signed.
"There were other options for David also, but he and his trainer Franny Smith were adamant they wanted Thompson again."
It is quite a U-turn by Thompson, who had said after beating Price in February: "They can talk all they want about a rematch, I am not coming over here again.
"They vastly underpaid me for this fight and I took this fight because of the opportunity. I have created my own opportunity now so if they want to fight me again, they have to come over to my side of the pond and pay me what I am worth."
