Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini has conceded that Manchester United deserve to win the Premier League title, as they prepare to be crowned champions.
A United win at home to Aston Villa on Monday evening will complete the job, after the Citizens were stunned 3-1 at Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday afternoon.
Following that reverse Mancini admitted that United will be deserving champions, but refused to accept that the Red Devils are the better team.
He told reporters: "They are not a better team, but they deserve to win this title because we lost a lot of points in games we probably didn't deserve to lose.
"But United won a lot of games in a row with goals and deserve to win the title."
The Italian went on to warn his side that there is still plenty to play for in the closing weeks of the campaign, with second place in the league not yet secure and an FA Cup final date with Wigan Athletic still to come.
"I think that it's important for us to win as many games now as we can, then we have a final which is very important," Mancini added.
"We needed to win because we want to get second position, but we didn't deserve to lose, we deserved to win, but this is football."
