Nathan Brown says his St Helens team must view Monday evening's game against Leeds as an opportunity for a fresh start.
Saints, who haven't played for over two weeks, have had a disappointing start to the season and are out of the play-off places following Hull KR's victory over Wakefield on Sunday.
Brown, in his first season with the club, has seen his options over the last few weeks reduced by injuries to key players and is still without James Roby and Jonny Lomax. However, he is determined to end a five-match losing run with a win at the home of the Super League champions.
Saints are3.20to win the clash, while Leeds can be backed at1.36. A draw is available at23.00.
"We have had more than our fair share of bad luck," he said. "We've used 32 players and had 10 debutants too.
"There are things the coaching staff could have controlled better and others that the playing group could have controlled better too.
"Now we have to say it is a new start. Experience is returning and there are still around six or seven blokes in rehab.
"They will come out over the next couple of weeks and then we will have a good healthy squad to look at and give ourselves a good chance of playing some consistent footy at the back end of the year."
Brown welcomes back Sia Soliola and Jon Wilkin for the clash, while Leeds are without Jamie Peacock, who has been ruled out for at least two months with a knee injury.
