Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero has received the all-clear to take part in Sunday's Capital One Cup final against Sunderland.
Aguero,4.00to open the scoring against the Black Cats, was assessed by the club's medical staff on Thursday, following a week back training with the first team.
Aguero has been sidelined for the last month with a hamstring injury and City don't want to risk any chance of a relapse.
But the Argentina international is now chomping at the bit and signalled his intent by scoring a brace in a half-hour game amongst his team-mates.
The only decision now for boss Manuel Pellegrini is whether to start with the forward, who has scored 25 goals in 26 appearances this term.
Aguero is desperate to start and, although short on match practice, both Alvaro Negredo (shoulder) and Edin Dzeko (ankle) are carrying knocks.
Defender Vincent Kompany believes the return of Aguero makes City an entirely different proposition.
The City skipper admits: "First of all, he is one of the best players in the world, and secondly he has a fear factor, and that that comes into play. Whenever Sergio is there, we are a better team."
