Fulham manager Felix Magath remains upbeat about his side's chances of avoiding the drop even though Damien Duff will not play again this season.
The Republic of Ireland international winger, who may have played his last game for the club as he is out of contract in the summer, has a knee injury.
Magath said of Duff: "We have to expect that he will not play this season anymore."
Meanwhile, Scott Parker will also miss Saturday's crunch relegation six-pointer against Cardiff City as he is also struggling with a knee injury, with Magath adding: "It's not so bad but, for Saturday, he can't play."
Defender Fernando Amorebieta remains on the sidelines, while William Kvist is also likely to miss out because of a hamstring problem.
Fulham are four points adrift of safety with ten games remaining, but Magath, who was installed as the Cottagers' third manager of the season last month, remains optimistic, saying: "I'm convinced that we will avoid relegation because we've developed in the last 14 days.
"The team is growing together and that is what makes me sure that we can avoid relegation.
"These three points (against Cardiff) are very important for us, not only to step up from the last place, we need a win for ourselves, for our confidence. I get the feeling here that everybody knows that and everybody sleeps well with the knowledge there are games ahead of us we can win."
