Sergio Aguero will miss Saturday's trip to Hull City but the Manchester City striker is likely to fight another day in the Premier League title race.
The Blues' 26-goal top scorer will have a scan on Thursday after he was forced out of Wednesday's Champions League 2-1 defeat to Barcelona with yet another hamstring problem.
The Argentine striker is understood to have informed the bench that he wasn't 'feeling right' after about half an hour, and went on to complete just six touches in the opening 45 minutes, before being substituted at the break.
Aguero recently returned from a four-week lay-off, and also missed a similar period over Christmas.
But City are briefing the injury isn't too serious and that Aguero's removal was a precautionary measure.
The Citizens will certainly need Aguero if they are to close the current nine-point gap to league leaders Chelsea, albeit, they have three games in hand on Jose Mourinho's team.
Assistant boss Ruben Cousillas insists: "We are out of two competitions, but we are still very much alive in the Premier League.
"The team is recovering and have been through so low times, but we are alive and we will fight for the title."
