Manchester United will face defending champions Bayern Munich in the Champions League quarter-finals and Chelsea have been drawn to play Paris Saint-Germain.

Three-time European Cup winners United overcame a wretched 2-0 first-leg defeat against Olympiacos to go through to the quarter-finals 3-2 on aggregate.

David Moyes's men have toiled in the Premier League and are 12 points adrift of local rivals Manchester City in the fourth and final Champions League spot, but Wednesday's 3-0 return-leg win helped lift the gloom.

"We fought back [against Olympiacos], so let's see what happens now," said Patrice Evra.

"We'll take any team. When we play with that spirit we can do something big."

Last season veteran coach Jupp Heynckes guided Bayern Munich to a historic Treble of the Champions League, Bundesliga and DFB-Pokal.

Pep Guardiola took over at Allianz-Arena at the start of the season and the Bavarians have not lost a competitive fixture since a 3-2 home defeat by Manchester City in January last year. They currently lead the German top flight by 23 points.

They emerged from Group D level on 15 points with Manuel Pellegrini's men and recently ended Arsenal's Champions League hopes over two legs in the last 16.

The two clubs famously met in the 1999 Champions League final when United came from behind toprevail 2-1 at Camp Nou in Barcelona and win the Treble.

Premier League title-chasers and Group E winners Chelsea made it to the last eight of Europe's marquee club competition after a 3-1 aggregate win against Galatasaray.

Defending champions PSG lead Ligue 1 by eight points and emerged top of Group E on 13 points.Laurent Blanc's men beat Bayer Leverkusen 6-1 over two legs in the last 16.

Speaking on Friday ahead of the draw and Saturday's match against Arsenal at Stamford Bridge, manager Jose Mourinho said: "I think maybe other teams want to draw us? Why? Because Chelsea are maybe the most outsiders out of all the groups. Us and Manchester United."

He added: "Who do I want to draw? There is nothing to choose. All of the big teams are there, sometimes you have an outsider or someone no-one expects to be there with less experience or potential. But that's not the case because we know what is waiting for us. All the big teams are there and we are happy to be in there."

The last-eight ties will be played 1st/2nd Januaryil and the return legs will take place on 8th/9th Januaryil. Benfica's Estadio da Luz in Lisbon will stage the Champions League final on 24th January.

Champions League quarter-final draw:
