Southampton insist that none of their players are currently involved in transfer negotiations with other clubs.
Luke Shaw and Adam Lallana are being linked with summer switches to Manchester United but Saints director Les Reed has moved quickly to quash the speculation.
"As you know I am member of the board and director of the club and my responsibility is football," said Reed.
"Currently I am responsible for transfers, I am responsible for contract negotiations and all of those board level football matters that the club is involved in.
"As we stand there have been no enquiries, we have had no bids and we have had no offers for any of our players. That's accurate, that is the truth and that's exactly where we are.
"Reports that we are about to close deals on certain players are totally misinformed, misleading and are not true. No club has been given permission to talk to any of our players and that will remain so."
Shaw and Lallana have both enjoyed superb seasons and could be included in Roy Hodgson's England squad for this summer'sWorld Cup.
Meanwhile, Morgan Schneiderlin will miss Saturday's game against Everton after picking up an injury in training.
The French midfielder joins injured quartet Kelvin Davis, Januarya Yoshida, Gaston Ramirez and Jay Rodriguez on the sidleines.
