Manchester United midfielder Darren Fletcher is hoping he has done enough to start against Chelsea after playing against Benfica in the 1-1 draw on Wednesday evening.
Fletcher has battled back to full fitness after succumbing to a virus at the end of last season and his recent appearances for Scotland persuaded United manager Sir Alex Ferguson to select him for his first club appearance of the season in Lisbon.
United were not at their fluent best following a number of personnel changes, with Ferguson keeping one eye on the weekend's clash with Chelsea. Oscar Cardozo opened the scoring in the 16th minute but veteran Ryan Giggs rescued the Premier League champions with a fine solo effort just before half-time.
United are now7.50 to win the Champions League while Chelsea are at 13.00.
Fletcher was pleased to be given a chance alongside Michael Carrick but is prepared to drop back given the competition for places at Old Trafford.
"It's great to be back involved in the squad," he told Sky Sports.
"I know the lads have been playing fantastically well at the beginning of the season, some great football and some fantastic results, so it is going to be difficult.
"All you can do is do is your best when you're given the opportunity and try and stay in the team."
United are8.50 to defeat the Blues 2-1 on Sunday.
