Castleford Tigers stand-off Rangi Chase admits he was shocked to be named as this year's Super League Man of Steel.
The 25-year-old New Zealander, who has elected to play for England, beat Wigan full-back Sam Tomkins and St Helens hooker James Roby to the prize.
All three men are now expected to line up in the same team for the Four Nations series which England are8.00 to win. Meanwhile, Australia can be backed at 1.44, New Zealand at3.50 and Wales at 251.00.
After winning the honour, Chase admitted: "I was shocked. I wasn't expecting it, the way Sam Tomkins and James Roby had played this year. It's unbelievable for me.
"I was overwhelmed to get into the last three. I said 'that will do for me. If I do win, it would be an absolute bonus'. I'm over the moon.
"It's been a good year for me. I'm certainly getting better. I'm more mature as a player. This year was about being consistent, that was my goal and I think I did it. Next year I've got to set new targets.
"Hopefully my best is yet to come. I'll keep pushing myself and challenging myself to be a better player."
Chase is only the second New Zealander to be named Man of Steel - the other was Wigan centre Dean Bell, who picked up the honour almost 20 years ago.
St Helens scrum-half Jonny Lomax was named young player of the year while Catalans Dragons were named club of the yearand the French side's Trent Robinson picked up the coach-of-the-year award.
