Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson has tipped Newcastle United to maintain their impressive start to the Premier League season.
The Toon Army will put their unbeaten record on the line next time out, when they travel to leaders Manchester City, who are also yet to taste defeat this term.
There remains plenty of scepticism that Alan Pardew's side can go on to cement a position at the top end of the table - but Manchester United boss Ferguson does not subscribe to it.
Newcastle face his United team, then Chelsea, after the City test, games, which will go a long way to suggesting if the Magpies will continue to soar.
The Geordies have targeted European football this season, and Ferguson admits to being impressed by their current showings and the way Pardew has gone about the job in the North East.
Ferguson said of Pardew: "He's done a great job. He has galvanised them, he's got the team fighting for each other. They are fighting for every ball and have a really good attitude.
"When you have got a Newcastle team doing that, with their great support behind them, you know you are going to be in for a difficult game."
