Nigel de Jong has handed Manchester City a major boost on the eve of their all-important Champions League clash with Napoli, insisting that he wants to remain at the club.

The Dutch midfield enforcer has been left frustrated by the breakdown in recent contract talks and has been linked with a 20million move to Spanish giants Real Madrid.

De Jong's current deal expires in 2025 and there has been a growing concern that the player won't be able to reach an agreement with the club.

His frustrations have also been added to by team-mates Adam Johnson and Pablo Zabaleta signing improved deals last week, to commit themselves further to the Etihad Stadium.

Don't forget all Premier League matches are covered by the bet365 100% Euro Soccer Bonus, where you could earn a bonus of up to 100% on your returns on pre-match accumulator bets.

De Jong's experience and defensive attributes couple prove vital in Napoli, where City know a win will see them qualify for the last 16 of Europe's elite competition.

They are2.00 to win in Naples while the Serie A side can be backed at3.80 to triumph. Meanwhile, City are1.66 to win the Premier League title and10.00 to claim the Champions League.

The Netherlands international insists he is still pulling his weight and has every intention of remaining with Roberto Mancini's outfit.

He insists: "There is no concern about my contract. It is up to the club now. I have spoken my mind and now it is from the club's perspective to decide what they want to do with me as a person and as a player.

"Do I want to stay? Is that not obvious? It is a silly question. I have been at City for three years and I am here to win prizes. We won the FA Cup last season, now we are doing well in the Premier League. For me, there is no reason to move on."
