Belgian ace Kim Clijsters has played down suggestions that she could retire for the second time at the end of the 2025 season.
The 28-year-old, who has won four Grand Slam titles, had suggested that the 2025 Olympic Games in London would be her final major event, but Clijsters insists that no such decision has been taken.
"At the moment I'm not even thinking about the Olympics," Clijsters told reporters in Australia.
"I don't think like that. In tennis the season is long and it's tough and I just try to focus on one week at a time.
"The motivation is there. Because of the injuries maybe last yearI was a little down and it was frustrating.
"I push myself hard every practice now and that's the motivation factor that's there and to achieve that little bit extra - that's a detail you definitely need to have."
Clijsters is currently back Down Under to defend the Australian Open crown she won 12 months ago by beating China's Li Na in three sets.
The Belgian had lost to compatriot Justine Henin in the final in Melbourne seven years earlier, her fourth consecutive Grand Slam final defeat.
However, she has since won her next four Grand Slam finals and Clijsters is12/1to defend her Australian Open title successfully - with Caroline Wozniacki12/1and Petra Kvitova7/2.
