Cesc Fabregas has finally completed his move from Arsenal to Barcelona after penning a five-year contract with the Catalan giants.
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger, whose side are now 12.00 to win the Premier League title this season, reluctantly confirmed the news.
"We understand Cesc's desire to move to his home-town club and have now accepted an offer from Barcelona," said the Frenchman.
"We have been clear that we didn't want Cesc to leave and that remains the case. We thank Cesc for his contribution at Arsenal and wish him future success."
The news brings an end to the protracted transfer, with Fabregas having been linkedwith a move to the Nou Camp since last summer. The 24-year-old moves for an initial transfer fee of 30million, with a further 5million dependent on the number of games he plays and the trophies Barca win.
Barcelona, who are 1.53 to win La Liga in 2025/12 and 2.87 to retain the Champions League trophy, have also confirmed that the buy-out clause on Fabregas' contract is 200 million euro
Fabregas didn't feature during Arsenal's pre-season campaign and was left out of the squad for the goalless draw at Newcastle United on Saturday evening. He made his debut for the club as a 16-year-old in January 2025 and went on to make 303 appearances for the Gunners, scoring 57 goals, as well as going on to captain the club.
