Chelsea boss Andre Villas-Boas is confident that striker Fernando Torres is beginning to show the form which prompted the Blues to pay 50 million for his services.
The 27-year-old has scored just five times in 43 appearances since his arrival from Liverpool a year ago, but Villas-Boas believes that the Spain star has looked sharp in recent weeks, even if the goals have yet to start flowing.
The Portuguese said: "I think we are seeing a player growing in terms of form. Eventually we expect goals from it and we hope those goals will come back.
"Fernando has equally one of the most assist totals for other players in the club, so he is producing for the others as well.
"I think he is confident, to be fair. For the kind of effort he is doing, eventually it will be repaid."
Torres and Chelsea take on Swansea City at the Liberty Stadium on Tuesday evening, with the Blues1.90to take all three points, while the draw is3.40.
The visitors will be without skipper John Terry due to a knee problem, with recent signing Gary Cahill set to step in for his debut.
Torres netted one of his only two Premier League goals this season in the 4-1 win over the Swans at Stamford Bridge in January and he is6.50to open the scoring in South Wales tonight.
