Borussia Dortmund coach Jurgen Klopp admits he feels some sympathy for Champions League flops Manchester City.
Roberto Mancini's side take on the crack German outfit tonight at the Westfalenstadion, having already failed to make it out of the group stage for the second successive season.
City can still salvage some pride and qualify for the Europa League if they beat Dortmund and Ajax fail to win at Real Madrid. City are13.00to win 1-0 in Germany while Dortmund can be backed at19.00to stroll to a 3-0 victory.
Dortmund turned on a masterclass at the Etihad Stadium in a 1-1 draw in January, when Blues goalkeeper Joe Hart was all that stood between them and a potential cricket score. City are available at4.50to keep a clean sheet on Tuesday.
Klopp's side have since gone on to underline their credentials by finishing top of Group D and are expected to rest a number of key players against City.
Dortmund are now considered serious contenders to lift the trophy, they are10.00to do so, but Klopp says City were unlucky to run into them when they did.
He said: "The match against City was surely one of the best ever for a Dortmund team. We were extremely quick, ran extremely well and were tactically very strong.
"Normally, you win such a game, but that was not the case then. As it turned out, it didn't do us much harm. I can't really say how tonight's game will develop because I have no idea how the team will line up.
"For sure, we will bring in some fresh players but against City you have to play at a high pace if you want to win. We will make some changes. Moritz Leitner, for example, will start."
