Tottenham Hotspur first-team coach Joe Jordan says his side and Manchester City have it all to prove as they bid to pip Manchester United to the Premier League title this season.
City currently lead the way by three points from United, with Tottenham eight points adrift after a recent 3-2 loss to the Citizens at the Etihad Stadium.
However, despite City being1.40to win the league this season, Jordan believes that recent history is weighted heavily in United's favour.
"Tottenham and City won their last championship in the 1960s, so it goes without saying it's harder (for either of those sides) to win it," former United striker Jordan admitted.
"United, who have come in for a bit of criticism, are where they are not just because they have quality players, they have the knowledge of how to maintain the consistency.
"City haven't done it since the 1960s, neither have Spurs, so it's fair comment for people to question whether you can sustain it."
Having dropped four points in their last two games, Spurs host rock-bottom Wigan Athletic on Tuesday evening knowing that only a victory will do.
The hosts are1.22to win the game at White Hart Lane and9.00to triumph by a 2-1 margin, while Spurs are now21.00to be crowned Premier League champions in January.
