Jim Culloty is tipping Long Run to hold on to his Gold Cup Crown at Cheltenham this week, while he also fancies Sizing Europe for glory.
The top Irish trainer had seen his Lord Windemere win the opener at Naas on Sunday and then explained his absence from the Cheltenham Festival.
He said: "He'd have gone to Cheltenham had we had a deluge of rain. That was the only reason he was entered. He wasn't going to go on fastish ground.
"He's a chaser through and through. It's just a case of keeping him in one piece until he goes novice chasing in the autumn."
It's a disappointment for the yard, but Culloty shrugged that off to give his view on the premier event in the West Country this week declaring: "We know he loves it there and I believe Long Run will emerge the winner."
Long Run is13/8to win the Gold Cup, with Kauto Star7/2.
However, Culloty's banker for the meeting, almost inevitably, is Sizing Europe to win the Queen Mother Champion Chase and he added: "He doesn't know how to run a bad race and I can't see him doing so this year.
"Benefficient is something of an enigma and Soux la Cieux is really a soft ground horse. I think the race is there for Sizing Europe to win."
