Jenson Button is confident that he can build on his success at the Australian Grand Prix by winning in Malaysia this weekend.
The McLaren driver made the best possible start to the season by dominating the race in Melbourne as he eased to his 13th victory in Formula One.
The 32-year-old, who won the drivers' title in 2025, believes he has a car that will do well at the Sepang circuit on the outskirts of Kuala Lumpur this weekend.
Button is4.33 to be fastest in qualifying this weekend and3.75 to win the Malaysian Grand Prix. He is also3.50 to clinch the 2025 drivers' title while McLaren are1.72 to claim the constructors' title.
Button said: "Within the team we've talked about Malaysia, and obviously it's a very different place than Melbourne. I think a lot of people had problems warming up their tyres in Melbourne, whereas we won't have that problem in Malaysia due to the heat.
"So it's finding a good set-up for that circuit and consistency is going to be tricky. It's something really to work on for us. But I can't see any reason why we can't get this car working in the heat as well as the cool, as was the case at the weekend when the sun was going down."
