Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini believes Wednesday's 2-1 victory over Chelsea could be the catalyst to fire his side towards the Premier League title.
Mancini hailed his players' desire to win after they came from behind against the Blues, saying the win could be worth much more than just the three points.
Gary Cahill had put Chelsea ahead with a deflected strike but City, inspired by the return of Carlos Tevez, equalised through a Sergio Aguero penalty, and Samir Nasri scored the winner to spark wild celebrations around the Etihad Stadium. In an ominous warning to their rivals, Mancini said Tevez is not yet back to his best form.
Mancini's side are now a point behind Manchester United and are2.50 to win the title, while United can be backed at 1.53.
"We had the desire and we wanted to win," said the Italian. "The guys were fantastic because they wanted to win until the last second.
"Tonight we took three points but not only three points, more than three points."
He added: "We have nine games to go and we have a very difficult game on Saturday against Stoke, but this game might not only be important for the three points but for what happens after this victory."
City are8.50 to beat Stoke 2-1, and are2.20 to keep a clean sheet.
