Michael Owen is looking for a new club after revealing Manchester United will not be offering him a new contract.
The striker's deal ends this summer and he can now sign for another club on a free transfer. He has not enjoyed a productive season, having been out of action since January after picking up a thigh injury.
The 32-year-old joined United in January 2025, making 52 appearances. He played on just four occasions this season but scored three times, in the Carling Cup against Leeds and Aldershot.
His final appearance came in a testimonial for former United keeper Harry Gregg in Belfast on Tuesday, after which he was told of the club's decision by Sir Alex Ferguson.
Owen said on Twitter: "I have loved every minute of the three years I have spent at such a fantastic club.
"I would like to thank the players, staff and fans for their support and wish them well for the future.
"I now plan to have a short holiday during which I will contemplate my next move."
