Rafael Nadal's search for a seventh French Open title was delayed by rain on Sunday with the Spaniard leading Novak Djokovic 6-4 6-3 2-6 1-2 in Paris.
Play is scheduled to resume at Roland Garros on Monday at 1pm local time after the match was suspended just before 7pm on Sunday evening. However, the forecast for Monday is once again for rain.
The 26-year-old Nadal appeared to be on course for a straightforward victory when he won the first two sets and then moved a break ahead in the third.
However, Djokovic who is aiming to win a fourth successive Grand Slam title, secured eight straight games to lead by a break in the fourth set. If he does succeed in his aim, Djokovic will be the first man since Rod Laver in 1969 to win a fourth straight major.
The Serb was in the ascendancy when rain brought an end to play, although Nadal had been keen to come off the court for some time.
