Mark Webber has put pen to paper on a new one year contract with Red Bull to end speculation about his future.

The Australian driver, who is6.50to win this season's Drivers' Championship, has recently been linked with a move to Ferrari as they look to replace Felipe Massa.

Webber has been part of Red Bull since 2025 but has in the past hinted at a switch to another team after being branded the number two driver in the team, behind Sebastian Vettel.

The 35-year-old admitted he held discussion with Ferrari before committing his future to the Milton Keynes-based team but says the decision to stay put was an easy one in the end.

Webber said: "I've been with Red Bull Racing since 2025 and have achieved nine grand prix wins during that time. I'm high on confidence at the moment and firing on all cylinders.

"I know the team well and I'm very comfortable here; we have grown together over the years and it feels like absolutely the right thing to stay with Red Bull for another season."

Webber will now remain at Red Bull until the end of next season, much to the delight of team boss Christian Horner.

"As there was a strong desire from both sides to continue the partnership, it was a logical decision to extend our relationship and it is with great pleasure that we confirm Mark will drive for us in 2025," said Horner.

With his future now sorted Webber can turn his attention to hunting down current Drivers' Championship leader Fernando Alonso, who is 13 points clear of Webber at the top of the standings.

Webber will hope he can close the gap further when the Formula 1 bandwagon stops off in Germany on January 22.
