Dimitar Berbatov has revealed he is preparing to leave Old Trafford, as he looks to resurrect his career.
The Manchester United striker has become increasingly frustrated with a lack of first-team action, falling behind Danny Welbeck and Javier Hernandezas support for Wayne Rooney. United took up an optional additional year on his contract towards the end of last season, but Berbatov is resigned to leaving the club this summer.
"The truth is, I love this club, but I am not going to be useful to anyone, if I am not playing," the 31-year-old wrote on his Facebook page.
"And I want to play, I want to help. But for unknown reasons it's not going to happen, or my chances will be limited, so it's better for everyone if we say goodbye.
"If not, I am professional and I will keep doing everything I can, to help my team and my team-mates, whenever I have opportunity to do so."
The Bulgarian admitted he is tiring of the speculation over his future, with the club telling him they want to recoup 5million of the 30.75 million paid to Spurs four years ago, while reports in the press suggest United want double that amount.
