Webb Simpson is hoping returning to the scene of his most important win can help inspire him to further glory this week.
Simpson will take his place among the field at this week's Wyndham Championship hoping to repeat the scenes of 12 months ago when he claimed his maiden victory on the PGA Tour. He is13.00 to retain his title, while Jason Dufner can be backed at 12.00.
His triumph at Greensboro was the starting point of a momentous 12 months for the American as he finished second in last season's FedEx Cup play-off before claiming his first Major title at this summer's US Open.
His win at The Olympic Club played a large role in helping him qualify for next month's Ryder Cup but Simpson still regards his victory at the Wyndham Championship as the most important week of his career.
The world number five, who lives nearby in North Carolina, said: "I was looking forward to this week ever since last year winning here. All my memories here are just awesome.
"To break through, have my first victory here an hour-and-a-half from where I grew up and an hour-and-a-half from where I live now... it was a perfect place to break through and win.
"I was playing really well coming in this week last year and I didn't expect to win but I felt confident that I could win. I don't think I would have won Boston or the US Open had I not won here."
Simpson claimed victory by three shots in the event last year but faces a strong field this year including European Ryder Cup hopefuls Sergio Garcia and Nicolas Colsaerts, who sit just outside the automatic qualification places for Jose Maria Olazabal's team and will be hoping to boost theirchances of playing at Medinah with a strong showing this weekend. Garcia is31.00 to win the tournament while Colsaerts is available at 46.00.
