Tottenham will be without Benoit Assou-Ekotto until mid-February as the left-back has a knee injury that forced him to miss the 3-1 win at Reading.
The 28-year-old Cameroon international may need surgery to cure the problem, according to Spurs boss Andre Villas-Boas, who was delighted with his side's display at Reading as they secured their first Premier League victory of the campaign.

"Benoit has a small fragment in his knee that makes it swell a lot," Villas-Boas said. "He has played through pain in the last couple of games. His knee may have to be washed out and if that happens we are looking at a four-week absence."
