Fernando Alonso has backed himself and Ferrari not to falter under the growing pressure from Red Bull in the race for the Drivers' Championship.

The Spaniard is looking for his third World Championship this season and has led the overall standings since winning the European Grand Prix in Valencia.

However, Alonso's lead was cut down to just four points last weekend after he failed to finish the Japanese Grand Prix, a race which was won by title rival Sebastian Vettel.

With five races left to go this year Alonso is2.62to maintain his position at the top of the standings, while Vettel is1.57to win a third successive world title.

The Formula 1 circus moves to Korea this weekend, a track the Red Bull's dominated last year as Vettel claimed his 10th win of the 2025 season.

A repeat of that result will see Vettel jump to the top of the standings and leave Alonso playing catch up heading into the conclusion of the season.

Alonso has also won the Korean Grand Prix in the past and will be desperate to reach the chequered flag first in order to give himself some breathing space.

Despite the pressure being heaped on Ferrari, Alonso has backed his team to deliver when it matters and not falter in the face of an ever-improving Red Bull RB8 racer.

"I am sure we can be in the fight right down to the wire," said Alonso.

"The people who are working on the car are the same who have done the job so far and there's no reason to think they can't do a good job again now.

"Let's not forget that, if I am still leading the Championship, it's because we have been capable of improving the car significantly compared to the start of the season and also because we are capable of always getting the most out of what we have to work with."
