Chelsea boss Roberto Di Matteo has confirmed that John Terry will return to his starting line-up for Tuesday's Champions League clash with Shakhtar Donetsk.
Terry served the first game of a four-match ban as Chelsea won 4-2 at Tottenham on Saturday, but Di Matteo is adamant that he has no intention of resting the Blues defender.
"Did I think about giving Terry a complete break? No," Di Matteo revealed.
Juan Mata had been rested by Di Matteo recently but was on top form at White Hart Lane, scoring a brace of goals to bring his tally to six in five matches.
Di Matteo said of the Spaniard: "He played in the Euros and the Olympic Games, so it was of vital importance that we gave him a break, mentally and physically.
"It was a good decision from the way he is playing. This last international break, when he wasn't selected, has given him another little breather."
Meanwhile, Shakhtar made it 12 wins out of 12 in their domestic league at the weekend as they beat Illichivets 2-1 at the Donbass Arena.
They are 12 points clear of second-placed Dnipro and seem certain to clinch their eighth Ukrainian Premier League title and fourth in a row.
