Wayne Rooney will be assessed by doctors today ahead of Manchester United's trip to face Galatasaray on Tuesday while Phil Jones is set to earn his first start of the season.
The United striker has been struggling with an ankle injury but was laid low for the weekend defeat to Norwich City by tonsillitis.
United have already qualified for the last 16 of the Champions League as Group H winners and boss Sir Alex Ferguson will take the advice of his medics about leaving him back in England.
The Red Devils also have a doubt over goalkeeper David de Gea, who sat out the Carrow Road misery after having two teeth removed.
But Sir Alex is set to hand Jones his first start of the season against the Turkish giants after he recently returning from a knee operation.
United will be looking to bounce back quickly and Ferguson insists his players will be focused on getting the Norwich reverse out of their systems.
The United boss said: "We had a lot of possession at the weekend but it just wasn't our night. We are always a threat but Norwich got plenty of men behind the ball."
