Newcastle United have not won a home game since January, but Wigan Athletic boss Roberto Martinez is refusing to be fooled by their poor form.
Alan Pardew's side will be desperate to win in front of the Toon Army tonight, as they bid to ease worries of a potential relegation scrap in the weeks ahead.
They take on a Latics side that have their own problems, most notably in front of goal, where they have scored just 15 goals so far this term.
Wigan turned in a decent display in their last outing, a 2-0 home defeat to Manchester City, but Martinez has been at pains to remind his players to cast their minds back just a few months.
Newcastle missed out on a top-four finish last season and Champions League qualification on the final day of the campaign.
Martinez, who is set to name an unchanged side forthe match, insists: "We do need to remember that Newcastle are capable of reaching really good heights of performance and results.
"We need to remember what they achieved last season - it was a phenomenal achievement - and it's going to be a very difficult game. We're going in to the game expecting Newcastle to perform well and make it difficult for us."
