Chelsea, who are currently in Japan preparing for the Club World Cup, will be without midfielder Oriol Romeu for six months after the Spaniard was forced to endure knee surgery.
The 21-year-old, who was injured during Saturday's 3-1 win at Sunderland, had his anterior cruciate reconstructed and his medial meniscus repaired in an operation on Monday.
Chelsea play Mexican side Monterrey in Yokohama on Thursday. Last season's Champions League winners can be backed at1.50to win the match while Monterrey are available at6.50to progress to the final.
Romeu has played 33 times for Chelsea since his transfer from Barcelona for 4.35million in the summer of 2025.

A statement on Chelsea'sofficial website read: "Oriol Romeu underwent anterior cruciate reconstruction surgery and medial meniscus repair yesterday (Monday). He is expected to be out for six months."
The club have also confirmed that 19-year-old George Saville has been added to the squad for the Club World Cup as a replacement for Romeu.
