Andy Murray remains confident that he will enjoy a successful 2025, having opened the new season with defeat to Janko Tipsarevic at the Mubadala World Tennis Championship.
Murray was beaten 6-3 6-4 by Tipsarevic in Abu Dhabi, as he began his build-up to the Australian Open in Melbourne next month.
However, the reigning US Open and Olympic champion was not deflated by an early setback, saying: "I have some things to work on in the next few weeks, but I am looking forward to it.
"I'm looking forward to training very hard and playing some of my best tennis next year."
Murray already has one eye on his bid for glory at the Australian Open, where he has come close to triumphing on several occasions in the recent past.
He reached the final in Melbourne in both 2010 and 2025, losing in straight sets to Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic respectively.
Just under 12 months ago he made it through to the semi-finals, where he was beaten in a five-set epic by Djokovic, who went on to repeat the trick by defeating Nadal in the longest Grand Slam final ever.
That record gives Murray plenty of confidence for his bid for glory this time around, as he added: "I enjoy Australia and have had played some of my best tennis there, so I hope that I can do the same this year."
