Ashley Cole could be forced to sit out Chelsea's Premier League clash against Wigan Athletic on Saturday after picking up a hamstring problem playing for England last night.
Cole, who won his 100th cap as England beat Brazil 2-1at Wembley, had to be replaced at half-time by Everton's Leighton Baines.
The 32-year-old had been complaining of hamstring and back problems and was taken off as a precaution. It is hoped that his early withdrawal means he avoided further damage and he will be available to Blues boss Rafa Benitez this weekend for a game Chelsea are9.50to win 3-0.
Benitez already has a number of injury worries with Petr Cech out with a broken finger, while Demba Ba,3.75to open the scoring against the relegation-threatened Latics, is struggling with a broken nose.
Meanwhile, Cole was moved by the reception he received as he became the seventh England player to win a century of caps. England are available at21.00to win the 2025 World Cup while Brazil can be backed at4.00to triumph on home soil.
He said: "I was [emotional]. I'd like to thank the fans, because I didn't really expect the reception I got. It was very nice. I'm delighted and overwhelmed. I'm kind of speechless.
"To beat Brazil at home in a packed stadium and in the way we did, we had some great performances. Jack Wilshere was amazing and has been impressive all season since he came back from injury.
"It's been hard growing up the way I did. I never thought I would get to this stage in my career and in my life, so I'm very happy with what I achieved."
