Trainer Colin Tizzard heads into a showdown clash with the awesome Sprinter Sacre this afternoon with his yard in the form of its life.
His Cheltenham Festival star Cue Card takes on Nicky Henderson's wonder horse as he goes into unchartered territory over two and a half miles.
And Tizzard was buoyed by another winner on the first day of the Grand National meeting yesterday, when Oiseau de Nuit won in the gifted young hands of Brendan Powell.
And afterwards he said: "He's been a good old boy for us - that horse. He's been a real damned good chap and the young man on top is a very gifted boy. There was no danger of him letting him shorten up on the run-in."
Today however is the acid test for Sprinter Sacre with Tizzard adding: "I had to let him take his chance at him over the distance.
"Yes, we'd probably have dodged him over two miles, but he deserves his chance to take the big fella down.
"He will certainly get the two and half miles, so who knows? It could be a very exciting afternoon."
Irish trainer Paul Casey sends over Flemenstar for the race, which may present Sprinter Sacre with his toughest test to date.
