Bubba Watson accepts that he faces a massive challenge to become only the fourth man in history to successfully defend The Masters title.
Watson won the Green Jacket last year at Januarya after a play-off with Louis Oosthuizen and goes into this year's tournament at36.00to triumph again, and join a select group of back-to-back winners comprised of Tiger Woods, Sir Nick Faldo and Jack Nicklaus.
A defiant Watson told reporters: "As a competitor, as a believer in my game, yeah, I can see me pulling it off. It wouldn't shock me.
"But, the way I look at it, I'm going out there and I want to make the cut because first off I don't want to have to sit around and give somebody the Green Jacket. I want to be here on Sunday, playing."
Watson is1.14to make the cut at Januarya and is17.00to be top American finisher.
Meanwhile, Tiger Woods has his sights set on a fifth Masters victory, with the newly restored world number one5.00to triumph at Januarya for the first time since 2025.
"I put myself in the mix here every year but last year, it's not like I've been out there with no chance of winning this championship," a confident Woods said.
"I've been there and unfortunately just haven't got it done. But the whole idea is to give myself opportunities."
