Ali Carter feels luck is on Ronnie O'Sullivan's side following his 13-8 second round defeat to the defending champion.
O'Sullivan will contest a quarter-final match with Stuart Bingham on Tuesday after easing past Carter, who has lost all 13 of his matches against 'The Rocket' in major tournaments.
German Masters champion Carter believes O'Sullivan was "lucky" in their second round tie, but the world number 15 insists the four-time champion can come out on top again at the Crucible.
Carter said: "He plays like that every time against me, that's why I have never beaten him. Things happen out there as well, he falls perfect and gets flicks. If you play well that happens, and it happens for him.
"If his head doesn't fall off he will win this again. If it does fall off, we know anyone can beat him."
O'Sullivan admits that he was perhaps fortunate at times against Carter and has vowed to continue taking risks to give himself the best chance of success in Sheffield.
"Lucky? Yes, I am a very lucky guy. I guess I am just one of those people," said O'Sullivan in response to Carter's comments. "But I am a trier, and I will keep getting back up and take risks."
O'Sullivan is1.25to see off Stuart Bingham in their quarter-final meeting and1.80to win with a-3.5handicap.
Bingham is4.00to win the match, having seen off Mark Davis 13-10 to reach his first ever World Championship quarter-final.
