Alvaro Negredo says he is "very happy" to be moving to a big club like Manchester City after Sevilla confirmed he would be joining Manuel Pellegrini's men.
The 27-year-old has a long-standing link with the Citizens having been earmarked by Pellegrini as someone who could aid in his revolution at the Etihad Stadium.
The Spain international scored 25 goals in Primera Division last season and comes to the Premier League having always reached double figures in his four years with Sevilla.
Despite his form in front of goal, the Andalusians struggled last term and ended the year in ninth, consequently missing out on a place in Europe.
Sevilla's failure to qualify for the Europa League, coupled with a large amount of debt, has forced the club to sell their star assets.
Negredo will now join former team mate Jesus Navas at Manchester City after the Spanish winger completed his 17million earlier in the summer.
Sevilla held a farewell press conference for the former Real Madrid youngster on Wednesday night, the Spanish club revealing Negredo has all but completed his move barring a medical.
Negredo says he is excited to be joining a club like City, while paying tribute to his former team.
"I think in football there are stages. For four years I have been very happy, but I think my time was here over," he told Sevilla's official website.
"I am happy to go to a big team."
Should Negredo pass his medical he will become City's third signing of the summer following deals for Navas and Brazilian midfielder Fernandinho.
