Australia coach Darren Lehmann has dropped a major hint that David Warner will be recalled for the third Ashes Test against England at Old Trafford, which starts on Thursday.
The left-hander missed the first two Test matches due to off-field issues and was sent away to play for an Australia A side in South Africa, with the remit to get amongst the runs.
Warner responded by smashing 193 against South Africa A in Pretoria, albeit on a wicket which produced a mountain of runs in a tame draw.
That knock has put Warner back in contention for the must-win clash in Manchester, with Lehmann saying: "He got 193 and played well, did exactly what we wanted him to do.
"We want blokes to make hundreds and he's ticked that box. Again, we'll have to look at the wicket and what we come up with in the top six. He could bat anywhere from one to six."
Australia are5.50to win at Old Trafford and keep their hopes of regaining the Ashes alive, with Warner6.50to be his side's leading 1st innings batsman, while captain Michael Clarke is3.75.
Both England and Australia are considering playing two spinners in Manchester, with Monty Panesar having been included in the 14-man home squad.
Off-spinner Nathan Lyon is pushing for a place in the Baggy Greens line-up, with left-armer Ashton Agar having been preferred for the losses at Trent Bridge and Lord's.
