Arsenal's early-season injury woes have worsened with the news that Lukas Podolski will be out for around two months due to a hamstring problem.
Podolski was injured during the 2-0 Champions League win over Fenerbahce on Tuesday evening, with manager Arsene Wenger hoping to have the Germany forward back in action in three weeks.
However, further tests have shown greater damage to Podolski, with Wenger telling the club's official website: "It is bad news about Lukas Podolski as he will be out for eight to 10 weeks. His hamstring is much more damaged than we thought at the start.
"It is very disappointing and we have paid a very heavy price for that win (over Fenerbahce)."
However, Wenger had better news over midfield duo Jack Wilshere and Aaron Ramsey, who will both be available for the north London derby on Sunday despite picking up knocks against Fenerbahce.
The Frenchman already has a number of players on the sidelines, with Thomas Vermaelen (back), Mikel Arteta (thigh) and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain (knee) all out of action.
The Gunners play host to Spurs on Sunday, having beaten their local rivals 5-2 in the corresponding fixture in each of the last two seasons.
