Gareth Bale has backed his former club Tottenham Hotspur to enjoy a successful season, after completing a world record move to Real Madrid.
The Welsh winger has moved to the Bernabeu for a fee of around 85million, signing a six-year contract with the Spanish giants.
But Bale believes that Spurs will still enjoy success without him, with head coach Andre Villas-Boas having already embarked on a spending spree to bring in Roberto Soldado, Paulinho, Nacer Chadli, Christian Eriksen, Erik Lamela, Etienne Capoue and Vlad Chiriches.
He told Spurs' official website: "I know many players talk of their desire to join the club of their boyhood dreams, but I can honestly say, this is my dream come true.
"Tottenham will always be in my heart and I'm sure that this season will be a successful one for them."
Meanwhile, White Hart Lane chairman Daniel Levy admitted that he didn't want to sell Bale, but has backed a revamped squad to cope with the loss of their star performer.
He added: "We have, with great reluctance, agreed to this sale and do so in the knowledge that we have an exceptionally strong squad to which we have added no fewer than seven top internationals.
"More importantly, we have an immense team spirit and a dressing room that is hungry for success."
